Business support

Connecting attendees to the local business ecosystem

At the PopUp Business School Aotearoa we make sure new businesses stay connected by providing awareness of business network support in specific areas as needed. These connections are all about enabling business sustainability. Being aware of the Bookkeepers Assn NZ or Business Mentors NZ, for example, can provide business input allowing the business to strengthen its foundations and/or its direction.

Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board

The area covers the south-eastern part of the isthmus, including One Tree Hill, Onehunga, Oranga, Penrose, Mt Wellington, Panmure and Glen Innes. The community is well served by regional facilities and open space, with Maungakiekie-One Tree Hill, Maungarei-Mt Wellington, Mutukaroa-Hamlins Hill and Panmure Basin all located within the local board's boundaries. It also has the large retail areas of Sylvia Park, Onehunga and Panmure town centres. The suburb is home to the regional Mt Smart Stadium facility and the industrial areas of Southdown, Westfield, and Mt Wellington. This area is an employment hub for manufacturing, bulk storage and distribution.

Puketāpapa Local Board

The area has one of the most culturally diverse residential communities in the Auckland region and a large amount of business land. The Puketāpapa Local Board area incorporates two volcanic cones, Puketāpapa-Mt Roskill and Te Tatua a Riukiuta-Three Kings. Together with Keith Hay Park and Monte Cecilia Park they provide open spaces for residents.

Attendees’ feedback

We asked the participants what their Lightbulb moments were at the event. Also they left the messages for our partners and assessed our team’s efforts.
You don't have to love all social media platforms to use them in your business. Building a website does not take a degree in IT.
Building a website is easier than I had ever imagined. Listening to the 11am speakers. Reiteration of the fact that I should embark on something I love.
Everyone starts off in the same place you do, that your not alone in this and there is help out there. You also don't need to be a Tony Stark to start a successful business.
Be comfortable in the flair you bring to the table and don't compare yourself to anyone else!
Realizing that everything I've ever known about businesses and business structures can be thrown out the window. Businesses aren't linear.
